Some before pictures of the DatProject, it was running like sh*t at the time, spilling oil, coolant, and brake fluid everyday.
The seats before were all torn apart. The person before had stapled pieces of vinyl together to create a "seat" which was really painful to sit on...
We had sent out the seats to get reupholstered in Santa Rosa. None of the upholstery work was our own work.
My mentor and I simply used a small razor to fit the head rests in. The headrests make the seats a lot more flush, and they feel more comfortable.
The paint process was very slow, it took more than 4 months for the paint to be fully finished. The ending result was very worth it however. At the time of the paint, I had the original engine that was swapped in, the Nissan L20b engine with a pos 32/36 manual choke carb and stock 4 speed tranny. The sanding process pictures are listed here.
Another problem I encountered was an accident that happened on the car. Either I left the hood halfway opened, or the hood latch broke, but the hood went flying off when I drove it. It caused one of the welds to break and it also damaged the paint. Here are some of the pictures of the accident.
Because of this, I couldn't really work on the car since the hood wouldn't open. I halted the project for a good month until I got it fixed.
